It is definitely quite a bit hotter in school today than yesterday, and our children and staff are finding it difficult, especially those that are upstairs.

In light of this we will offer an early pick-up today if you wish to collect your child before it gets even hotter during the later part of the afternoon.

Between 2pm and 2.15pm the following year groups will be in the following locations inside the building by an external door if you wish to collect your child and find a cool place at home:

• Reception – Rear of Reception classrooms.
• Year 1 – Rear of Year 1 classrooms.
• Year 2 – Normal pick-up point by double doors in the Infant playground.
• Year 3 – The doors to the activity Studio in the infant playground.
• Year 4 - The doors to the main hall in the Infant playground.
• Year 5 – The FOSBACS Room at the front of school.
• Year 6 – Double doors at the bottom of the stairwell nearest to nursery.

At 2.15pm the staff will return to the coolest locations in school with any remaining children and if parents wish to collect them before the end of school they can do so from the school main entrance.

If parents have work commitments and can’t pick up their children, then this is not a problem at all as school is not closing….it will remain open and children can stay with us until the normal end of the school day at 3.30pm.

FOSBACS will still operate for any families who need this service.

We hope this flexible system supports families to look after the best interests of the children within school.
